Identified - US Disston Machete - 1945
Identified - US Disston Machete - 1945
I purchased this blade cheap at auction on a hunch it was military issue. When I picked up it was sitting in a NC barn rusting away and I can't make out any of the markings but it resembles a USMC handle (I think). We're going to do a level one reconditioning to clean her up a bit and see if we can identify.

Excellent and Thanks! I cleaned it up a bit more last night. This is a great blade. Very well made and obviously durable.
Now I'm on the hunt for an appropriate sheath and planning to sharpen.
